Even though I’m a devout atheist, I kind of love certain Christmas music (in particular, “O Holy Night,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”). When I was in choir in elementary school, I would always walk around practicing “O Holy Night” and driving my family insane. And don’t get me started on the joys of playing some of the more orchestral Christmas music on my clarinet. Good times.
Here’s Josh Groban and Christina Aguilera doing a much better job than I would:
(This makes me sad, btw, because he performed this when I was still living in NY, but I didn’t find out that he was at Rockefeller until the day after it happened. That would’ve been my fourth time seeing my Josh perform. Yeah, I’m a Grobanite, people. Deal with it!)
If you’re traveling, be safe! I’m going up to Austin with my parents to spend Christmas with my aunt and uncle, but really, my main goal over the next couple of days—in all honesty, it’s my main reason for going on this trip—is to finally go see Lars von Trier’s Antichrist. I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to steal the car and ditch everyone, but it’s gonna happen.
To those who celebrate, Merry Christmas!
