White men can’t cope

Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the Supreme Court = the crazies coming out in droves.  We’re less than a day into this, and the “Hispanic Chick Lady” is already facing a frenzy that sounds eerily similar to the “Obama is black!” / “Hillary has a vagina!” panic.

Let’s start with our good friend, Rush Limbaugh:

[H]ere you have a racist. You might want to soften that and you might wanna say a reverse racist. And the libs, of course, say that minorities cannot be racists because they don’t have the power to implement their racism. Well, those days are gone because reverse racists certainly do have the power to implement their power. Obama is the greatest living example of a reverse racist and now he’s appointed one — getting this, AP? — Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court.

You can read that diatribe in its entirety here.

Actually, Media Matters has a pretty good roundup of the talking heads/radio stuff:

Then we have Mitt Romney’s take on it:

The nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court is troubling. Her public statements make it clear she has an expansive view of the role of the judiciary. Historically, the Court is where judges interpret the Constitution and apply the law. It should never be the place “where policy is made,” as Judge Sotomayor has said. Like any nominee, she deserves a fair and thorough hearing. What the American public deserves is a judge who will put the law above her own personal political philosophy.

Those sentiments are echoed in this video (albeit with a lot little more race-baiting) by the Judicial Confirmation Network, a conservative group.  Their attempts to get this on TV have failed so far:

Sotomayor is a WOMAN! of COLOR! Terrifying, I know.  The end times must be near. Eyeroll.
