Quinceañera is a film for the feminist classroom?

Sure, pregnant Mexican girl in LA gets kicked out of her home and has to live with her gay cousin and their old, endearingly quirky uncle?  But then she gets back in her father’s good graces at the end when a trip to the gyno reveals she’s still a virgin on a technicality (she and her ex never had actual intercourse).  Voila.  She’s still a pure “good girl,” plus now she gets to channel the whole Virgin Mary thing, so she’s extra special.  Daddy makes the call that all is right in the world once more, and she gets her quinceañera.

Not exactly throwing the finger to the patriarchy…
