Very sad to hear that Don Van Vliet, a.k.a. Captain Beefheart, passed away on Friday due to complications from multiple sclerosis. I’m a big fan of his. He was most known for breaking new ground in experimental/avant garde rock in the late 60s and 70s; in recent decades, he became reclusive and focused on his artwork.
Doc at the Radar Station is probably my favorite Captain Beefheart album, but there are so many good songs in his discography to choose from. This video is from their 1968 performances at Cannes:
