5 of the 9 sites where BP has chosen to dump its “nonhazardous” oily solids are areas with high percentages of people of color. I’m curious to see the socioeconomic makeup of the other 4 sites:
It’s sad, but not surprising, considering the southern states have long been used as dumping grounds for toxic waste, especially in areas that have high concentrations of minorities and poor people.
